BinaryCafe - Comparison of Sony DSC-HX9V and DSC-HX100V (with samples) [HD1080]

BinaryCafe - Comparison of Sony DSC-HX9V and DSC-HX100V (with samples) [HD1080] Video Clips. Duration : 18.43 Mins.

In this video, Michael compares the Sony DSC-HX9V and the DSC-HX100V digital cameras. Although both cameras have the same Exmore R CMOS sensor, there are some features that make the HX100V a better value, considering that the difference in the manufacturer's suggested retail price is 0 USD. The HX9V has a 16X Sony G Optical Zoom lens...the HX100V has a Carl Zeiss 30x optical lens. Advantages of the HX100V include: manual focus, an articulating LCD screen, an electronic viewfinder, a longer life battery, a tripod mount that does not interfere with the ability to supply power to the unit while it is mounted to a tripod, and shutter and aperture priority modes. The HX9V is a smaller form factor, making it easier to carry. It also sports a wider angle lens. While both cameras share a new 'background defocus' feature, to maintain sharpness on subject while blurring the background, the HX9V makes this feature more accessible by providing it as an option from the mode dial; on the HX100V, the user must navigate to the scene mode and select background defocus a setting. While shooting the provided sample video and pictures, it became apparent that the electronic viewfinder and articulating screen make it much easier to shoot better and more consistently framed photographs and videos under sunny conditions.
